Never, the price is way too mutch. The only s700 got is a 1.3 Mpixel camera. I'm sure SE release one or several models before summer with the same camera for 1/2 that price. To by the S700 now is a real waste of money, I'd rather upgrade my p900 to p910...

If I didn't spend the money to buy a K700i, then yes, I would buy the S700i (or should I say the S710a). I think that a lot of people are disappointed in the phone is because it's basically a K700i (which a lot of people already have) with a better camera.
If SE decided to release both phones (the K and the S) simultaneously or if they removed some of the restrictions on the S700i, (like the memory limit of full video playback) then it might have been an excellent phone despite the price. But right now, it seems as if SE really messed up with the release of the S700i.

A gloryfied K700 with 1.3 MP camera and a fake metal eyelid...sorry i can affoard to buy it but refuse to....not woth the money...your paying for sheer marketing.
The K700 and 7610 are so similar and a fraction of the price. And it doesnt even support Duo Pro!!! What a con!

Superluminova Posts: > 500
Yeah i would buy it, it's more of a style statment than anything else, yes is over price, yes its just a k700 with a better screen and camera, yes it's big for a phone, but god it has a wow factor when the average consumer see's it!
its for people who don't want a k700 because everyone has one,
its for people who don't want a p910 because its to geeky,
its for people who want all the best features and an understated style,
its for people like me.

Nice thread ! I used and still am now, changing my fones on a regular basis, majority of which are '2nd hand ones' ! I've come to realise only now that it is really of no use getting yourself a hi-tech gadget, in this case - a celfone! My basis is that you only tend to get one if:
1. You have someone to send your MMS to.
2. You are a photographer/video editor by profession.
3. You upload images in different celfone sites like esato on a regular -
basis.
4. You email friends with videos/images attached more often.
5. You want to be - 'in' cluded in the society!
It's more prudent I guess, to simply have the money placed inside my wallet, and just manage to have simple/vintage fones. Right now I am very much contended with my old Ericsson T39mc, Motorola V60i (new acquisition), Nokia 9210i and 8855 !
So, my answer is - NO!

My view would be that if you have a K700 then upgrading to the S700 may not be a smart move unless you are either rich or that you will get good use out of the extra features of the S700.
If you are going from a really old phone to a S700 then the features are probably worth it, still the price is a lil nasty.
I was thinking of getting a K700 when it was 1st announced but over time thought that the S700 would be more for me, I've been saving since the beginning of the year so its not like its money I dont have.
Upgrading from my beloved Ericsson T65 to the S700 would be excellent, but upgrading from a K700 to S700 may not be the best move. If the P910 had a megapixel camera then that would be a compelling buy.

@stinga - Right there mate! Not a prudent idea of buying an S700 if you already have a K700/i - at the moment . . .
