@absinthebri

He had recovered feeling in various parts of his body and could move one of his fingers again. He was also able to breath independently for protracted periods of time. He accomplished this through willpower. Before his death I never for one moment had any doubt that he would walk again, his sheer determination was superhuman; I think that if anyone deserves the title of 'superman' it is Christopher Reeve.

I see IMDB have updated his details now to show his date of death

He was certainly a perfect fit for the Superman part and I did like him in the Aviator but I didn't think much of the parts he got until his wheelchair part in the Hitchcock remake of "Rear Window"

RIP

I know all about his contributions. I've also worked in the physical disability field for over 10 years so I actually know what I'm talking about. Perhaps you'd find it acceptable to find a cure for blackness or homosexuallity? The issue is Reeve's inability to accept himself as he was. As such he did a great disservice to disability politics as well as deluding himself. This message was posted from a T68i

Why would i want to find a cure for "blackness"

Reeve was in an accident. You cant cure an accident. You can recover. And he didnt feel sorry for himself, he got on with it. He wasnt disabled, he was paralysed in an accident.

I really do not want to engage in an argument here, but I would like to point out that where you see delusion I see hope. Imagine what the world would be like if we were to accept what appeared to be insurmountable odds; no Pyramids, no victory at Trafalgar, no space travel, no evacuation at Dunkirk, no victory against Nazism; I'd rather not live in that sort of world thank you very much.
I have great respect for anyone who fights on regardless of the odds, bravo I say; I'd rather die fighting than give in.
