I agree that this is a serious bug, a fundamental error, which really puts the whole idea of an electronic phonebook on your phone to rest. I haven't checked, but I'm sure the first EVER commercial mobilephone had this possibility, and that it displayed the number you stored to a given contact.

I received a vCard from a friend, and chose to store the contact, let's say her name was Patty B. There was already another Patty stored in my phone, let's say Patty A. Immediately, I started writing an SMS to Patty B. Unaware of it, when I scrolled to Patty B to send the SMS to her, the phone chose Patty A's number!!!!!!! YES IT'S TRUE!! Undoubtedly, I found myself in a very peculliar situation a few SMS'es later. To think that MY OWN PHONE could screw me that way is unthinkable!!

How often do you really STOP to check the number of a contact? I check the name, and the icon (of course, I have stored the correct numbers in the correct slots, ie home, work, mobile etc), then i press dial/send. We live in a busy world, you know. It's supposed to go fast.

Anyway... I had to delete the contact and store it manually. Weird. I got the vCard from a T630. Should be compatible, right?

I can't trust my phone no more... And that was supposed to be my "best friend"... Who knows if it's sending MMS'es of me, naked, to everybody in my contact list as we speak. Hell, I'm sure the phone took the picstures as well...

I have R2L001 and I did flash it by myself, I thought that a few bugs was gonna go away, I was wrong.

1) When starting the K700 after asking for PIN it will always ask for Phonecode (stupid), it should ONLY ask for it WHEN the SIM is changed!

2) Using HBH-35, does not answer when it rings, I have to pusch answer on the phone! (stupid)

3) When using the "handsfree" that was delivered with the phone, you can't use dialup with voicecommand and same time listen on radio, above that when someone is calling, you won't hear it in the headset, just the phone is ringing and the radio goes off (stupid)

Well, I'm a old programmer myself and I can't understand why simple issues like this take a hell of long time to fix?

I love the K700 BUT I want the bugs out, I have flashed the phone twice and the same shit is still there.

The phonebook bug can be reproduce on my K700 on R2L. I tried moving some numbers from the category 'home' to 'mobile' using FMA. After I sync it with the phone, almost every consequent numbers shows the same number. I'm pretty sure it's FMA but my solution was to delete all contacts on the phone and force FMA to sync as a new contact instead of updating.

Yep, i have an unbranded k700 and firmware r2L and i have the exact same phonebook problem.
I'll try some of the suggested solutions. Thanx guys.
Hope SE is listening as well.

(and it is weird that the phone rings instead of the headset when it's plugged in.. What's up with that SE?)
