Yeah 80kps AAC is about 30 percent smaller and practically sounds the same. I just use iTunes to encode my mp3s

I used mono mp3s at 64kbps and my phone can accomodate about 16 of them with a little left for pictures. I tried converting them to mp4 but to achieve a similar size would cause your songs to sound like a duet with a turkey.
Is there a way to use mono for mp4? I'm using dBpower AMP.

NOOOO not this againe this is like umm the 6'th thousand time some on bring this up....
and i would answer youre question like this .. it there for several reason's but the main reason is so you can play mp3 as ring tones! (maby im wrong) itīs ot there to replacea regular mp3 player it still is phone

I wasn't planning to use the mp4s as ringtone. I just thought that if I could convert my songs to mono mp4s then I could probably make the files even smaller. I never thought of converting the mono mp3s to mp4s - maybe it will work, thanks.
