@buckle247

Mine is an O2 K700, it hasn't been able to send a picture message since the day I got it, neither has my S700, but hopefully this will work.

try it and let us know. It is weird why some o2 sims are shipped with mms enabled and others not. When my mate phoned up, they said his sim card would have been activated for mms after 30 days even if he hadn't of phoned them.

@buckl247

I tried that and it still isn't working! I've deleted my settings and have downloaded them again from the SE website, I'll let you know if that does the trick.

I can report that downloading the settings again did not work. I shall phone O2 and ask them to have a shot at solving this one.

yeah i am guessing you need to have it activated on your sim. Just a way for them to make money at 50p a minute i guess

I was using my S700 just there, but it is the same problem with my K700; I'll need to ask about both of them.

No, different SIMs.

I phoned O2 and I was told that mms hadn't been activated on my account, so it looks as if buckle247 may have been correct. I was told that mms should be active within twenty four hours, hopefully my next post will be to say that I can send picture messages.

I work for Orange myself, but the problem you're getting is normally called a legacy experiance (if your being told to go onto the net to get a picture; this is what happens to people who don't have MMS phones). This is caused either A: if your account isn't provisioned with MMS or B: if the changes on your account aren't showing on O2's HLR (where your network profile & permissions are stored). Which /normally/ can be resolved by some SIM updates (if they do them right).

Hope this helps. This won't be a settings issue if when people are sending you messages you get a text message instead, this will be at O2's side for sure.

If it was a settings issue you would be recieving the MMS, but with no picture and when you chose to download the picture it would throw up communication error of some sorts.
