I'm glad its not just me who has had that problem, thought i was going mad. After numerous calls to vodafone and vizzavi (both of them thought it was a problem with the othes service, So much for the tech desk.) finally got put on to sony ericsson, who sent some new settings for wap (no gprs settings at the moment). this apparently ha no limit on file size for download. If any one can get it to download more than 3k let me know.

Guys... This is uk networks problem, i can say with certainty. Vodafone gateway can download java midlets upto 120kb for siemens phones. The problem has something to do with which file extension the network recognises as a valid was download. By the way those who dont believe me should download something from midlet.org on siemens sl45i or m50. I am 100% sure. This post was posted from a T68i

mark.davey> I knew there was someone from Voda on this forum but I forgot who! I've talked to Voda tech and they told me that there was no way the limit could be increased. Come and have a look at the UK user thread pagesd 20 onwards - there is quite an argument going on there and we would value your or anyones input.

Oh one thing i neglected to add is that siemens sl45i doesnt have gprs. Or does no one care that i just might have helped to solve the 3kb limit problem? This post was posted from a T68i

There are for sure some operators that have fixed a maximum size allowed for the files u download... I donīt know which operators has a maximum or not...

i know also that you can sometimes use another wap profile than the one provided by ur operator, and then the problem is fixed.

I didnīt test it myself but you can try to add the following profile in your wap settings:
Accordind to somebody i know, it should work...
Please let me know if itīs true! (I donīt have such a problem with my operator so I didnīt try!!)

Ericsson
Number: Number of your ISP
Call type : Analog
Login : Login ISP
Password : Pass ISP
IP address : 195.58.110.201
Port : 9201
Home page: http://wap.ziwap.com/

Please note the names of the parameters are my own translation so they might be different!!! But I guess you can find out what I mean

If I am not clear enough, let me know...
