Holographic projectors, they have something like this in japan. I want it over here!. Although i know it will take like 100 yrs. Dont quote me on the timings though.

Seriously, I think the next big thing - which isn't too far off - is going to be positional services. One application that was talked about is leaving 'notes' in pubs/restaurants. You would go in with your mobile phone and leave a message about, for example, what you thought of the food/drink/decour and other phone users who came into the same establishment could look at all the messages left by other visitors.

I think with the introducton of Wifi handsets in japan that will be coming our way soon enough. We already have modules to add to palm handheld pc's pda's and such. Its just amazing how quickly phones are advancing! mind boggling, i really think they should be working on battery capacity. The the functionality of these newer handset's will be really worth an arm and a leg.
I think they should call them something else, mobile phones arent just as they state 'mobile telephone'. I know i cant take pictures with my home phone, i dont even use it anymore, thanx to the internet and my mobile. Dont know whether this is good or bad...
