Likely reason is that Sony can't make a Memory Stick card as small as the Mini-SD card. Smaller card probably means smaller phone...

I agree. SE can only make their phones so small if it has MS support. With the use of SD cards, SE can make higher end phones, with greater flash storage at a compact design.

i agree that se can make smaller phones with the sd cards , but my dilamma is that i own a cybershot camera and soon a p910i( and when something betters comes along from se probably that) .
what i mean to say is i only need 1 type of recordmedia but if they switch to more formats , i have to buy others to

instead of switching them between camera and phone
