Worked for me first time on my P910i. Whilst, you have to be wary of sites such as these, it is worth bearing in mind the following:
1. Nobody in their right mind is going to set up such a scam in order to gain access to gmail.com addresses - they may be sought after, but that's insane. They may be in it for the contents of one's inbox however, but I doubt it.
2. If they were dodgy, they would be more likely to claim some affiliation to Gmail, rather than honestly distancing themselves.

I managed to log onto the wireless site on my P910i yesterday. The layout is decent although it would be cool to access it via HTML. It took me 2 minutes to setup the whole thing.

Still doesn't work for me... I also went to
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gmail-mobile/ and uploaded the folders to my own server, but to no avail...

from the sourceforge page...
Be aware that the WAP protocol is not secure, unlike HTTPS. That means your account name and password are sent in clear text, and EVERYONE (e.g. some gateway) in between your WAP phone and your server will be able to read your account name and password directly. This is possible, especially the gateway may have logged every requests/responses go through it.
So use it at your own risk...

Problem solved. You can now access your Gmail with a POP3 client.
