The F500 and K500 are exactly the same except for a slight design difference between the two and the fact that the F500 is optimised for vodafone/Verizon Wireless customers... The letter at the end? It doesn't mean much, just the country that the handset is for. China gets the F500c and the K500c, whilst everywhere else gets the F500i and the K500i.

Technically-speaking, there is no such thing as the F500 and the K500- they're just the generic versions, before they have been customized for different networks and/or countries...

If you get an F500i it is Vodafone branded and you cannot use your own MP3's as ringtones. I returned my F500i and bought K500i which was not branded to anyone and can use MP3's for ringtones. Vodafone's Live firmware is a pain in the rear end.
Also F500i has blue buttons when they are not lit and they are not in a straight line like the K500i. The menus and icons on the K500i are so much better, avoid the F500i.
