SE stands for quality not quantity.
They make a good profit and are making excellent progress, which when you take into account that their handsets are generally more expensive than the rest, is quite an achievement wouldn't you say?
SE is quite a young company which has only just started to make their mark on an industry which for too long has had to put up with 2nd rate handsets ,shoddy handsets. They don't sell as many but what they do sell are definately worth buyng.
INNOVATION AND QUALITY. Thats what I want from my handsets. Anything else just isn't good enough.

yes 41mb on a phone is way to little memory, when i first heard of the k700, i was hoping that SE would use the ipod internals and stick 40Gb into the phone. So i could store thousands of mp3s and millions of java games as well as a few hundred vga phone cam pictures
The k700 is designed as a phone, not a multimedia centre, it is not desinged to store 300 mp3s and a few thousand pictures. If you want to do this buy a p910 and a couple of 512Mb memory sticks.
Also what are you on about, i didn't buy the k700 as it is a beta phone? Beta products aren't released to the general public, the beta version of the k700 used the z1010 firmware, the version in the shops is the final release.
Also the f500i and the k700 are the same phone. One is not an upgrade of the other, so this doesn't work in your argument. One is designed for the vodaphone market the other is unbranded. Same as like the nokia 5110i exactly the same as the 5110 but it was orange branded.

Sorry mate but your a muppet
Every single manufacture sells newer/upgraded versions of a particular model. Not just phone manufactures either, look at cars-
Ford Fiest
Vauxhall Astra
The list is endless, they're not goin to designe a whole new product every year.
The difference between SE and Nokia is when SE sell an upgraded phone they upgraded phone, when Nokia do an upgrade they simply change the fascia add a little of what was missing from the previous model.

I think upgraded phones is not a point to be discussed. Because it is always a possibility to scream “Hey, it’s not a brand new idea, its just an upgrade, give me something NEW!”. Other words it is utopia. You see in all-absorbing sense there is no possibility to change the conception of the mobile phone, every thing that changes with each new model is just an upgrade. The whole industry works that way.
But I do understand attacks about cloning phones (but I think Nokia is the one who does it most of all). That’s why I prefer some unknown companies or newbies (I was using a P5 and P6 from Haier for example, but they were a very bad Chinese crap, but I’m expecting P7 to be something…).
The problem is it is very hard and dangerous to experiment with real innovations for a new company, and it looks like big companies doesn’t want to do it because it is economically unjustified. (we remember Xelibri from siemens…)

A 40gb hard drive in the K700?
You cannot get a micro drive that small yet! The best you could get for a phone the size of the K700 is a 1gb SD card which would be nice.
I think people seem to forget that if the phone was to include more space, better camera, more colour in screen etc then the price would be pushed up quite a lot. I think the K700 is priced just right feature wise. Now if only I could say the same for the S700...

@DC:UK.
Just as a matter of interest, how much do you think the S700 is worth?

What about the S700 price? Here in Russia non-Russian version (without guarantee, but with the full set and a brand new phones) costs 600 $... Is it really that high?
It also looks like it will to go down to the 500 $ very soon.

I also agree that K700 needs a memory slot somewhere, because 40mb for all that features is a nonesense. But phone features are directly related with money, so if you need or want more features expect to pay more money.
Maybe soon we'll get a K700 upgraded version with MS duo or something like that, but the the price of that model will be higher than the K700. You want a T610? ok, pay for it. Better screen?, buy a T630 and pay more money, that's just the way it is.
So, when you buy a phone you got to see what you want, what you need and what your money can buy, and the model that fits most pf these 3 categories is the winner, that´s how I see it.
