I would really be grateful if you could tell me how you got e-mail to work on the T68 via BT Internet... which I believe now is BT Openworld. I have been trying for months... Please Help!!

You have to make a new data account first with the BT Openworld International dial up number which is +44 121 478 9200.

That all I done to get mine working. Hope it helps

mhorton, did you just change the dial up number in the account setup on your T68? I used the configurator on the SE website for the 0845 number and no luck. I'll try it if I can ever pry the thing out of my wifes hands, she's a tetris addict, when MMS comes out I'm there.

Still can't get it to work I have the same problem, does all the verifying, and then get the cannot find server message, tried three different dial up numbers, and also tried sending it from the draft, not the send and receive option, I'd really like to get this working, I'm getting my communicam tomorrow and it's not going to be much use without an e-mail account eh. What IP addresses did you use mhorton for the server addresses.

Bump!

I have just got my S700i back from the repairers and since then I have been unable to set up my mobile email. I am familiar with all the settings but the server could not be found when trying to connect.

I was wondering if anyone else was having problems finding the server on their phone.

I have had new settings sent from SE and O2.

Here are the settings I am using -

Connect using - O2 WAP GPRS
PROTOCOL - POP3
Incoming Server - mail.btinternet.com
incoming port - 110
Encryption - Off
mailbox - [my own]
Password - [my own]
Outgoing Server - smtp.O2.co.uk
Outgoing Port - 25
Email address - [my own]@btopenworld.com
Download - Headers and Text
From Name [my own]
Signature - [my own]
Copy Outgoing - Off
Check Interval - Off.

Any ideas.

Before my phone was at the repairers the SW was R3K008, but now it is back it is R3F008.

I have always been able to collect my mail before but I don't know what is wrong this time.

Let me know if you get round this problem i have the same problem i cannot get my phone to log onto the email server at all

I have downloaded all the setting off both O2 and SE web sites and all have the same error

I have even been given a mobile dial up number by my ISP and still it dont work

Tried several ISP's and relevant email servers but same problem over and over

Tried it on my old Nokia 6310i and my email works fine

Maybe a firmware upgrade will cure it?
