I'm not a nokia fanatic and I love the 3D games of the k700 but the 6260 surely surpasses k700 because it too has stereo sound (on the headset) I was going to buy it until I saw my dream-phone 3230 which has the perfect price. The only problem is the anticipation.

The sound processor of the K700i is stereo. It can handle stereo sound but it only has one external speaker so if you play sound through the external speaker the left and right channels will be mixed and ported to the external speaker as a mono sound. If you use the stereo earphones, the sound will not be reprocessed and you will definitely hear stereo.
As to which is better, I think it depends on which works best for you.
Like my cousin who owns a 6260 but only has 1 low-quality mp3 he downloaded somehow. He always complains that his games are slow because he didn't realize that he had been running several applications together. He keeps admiring the quality of the sound from my K700i and was surprised that I had 18 inside. I asked him to send to me his mp3 file via bluetooth or IR so we can compare. It took him almost 10 minutes to figure out how to do it. I could have done it in 3 seconds.
My point is -- a phone's features are worthless if you can't use it properly.
