@soyabean, is there an IR icon on the system tray? You may want to check the control panel settings for infrared, and check your system properties for conflicts and problems

I use win XP
There is no problem detecting my very old SH888. It will usually detect the phone for alittle while then lose it.
There is nothing wrong with the phone because i have tried the IR-port on other devices. It must have something to do with the settings.

I installed by mistake the FIR driver in win98se
Now i cant install the SIR driver (generic dongle)
How can I remove the FIR driver ?
I want to connect my PC to an Ericsson T68i via ACTISYS
ACT IR 210L.
Motherboard is Epox 8k3a+, Win98se.
Is there any means of uninstall(even manually) the FIR
drivers ? I cant see any option to uninstall via the
add/remove software panel.
And removing the device results in reinstalling the
FIR driver after reboot.
Please help.

@kyramas
you have to search for the same INF file in the INF folder that you used for installation. (You probably know what the name is?)
Delete that file, and remove the hardware. Next time it detects the IR device it wont' auto reinstall.
Alternatively, you can look for the "update driver" button from the properties of your IR device and install the SIR driver instead.

Thanks for the reply !
I tried the "update driver" option...it wont work...
I will try deleting the inf file
(yes I know the name its irmini.inf)
today and see what happens.
