ok. there is no use if you dont have 3g functionality. in that case why did voda do an exclusive show??? if voda is the only option, might as well release it sim free. right?

Who knows but Orange are not far away from launch, they already have the 3G PC Data card available, & the other Networks are in testing

well, there is an alternative in some countries in the forum of operator named 3. personally I don't think thats much of a second choice

as for vodafone branding and locking, well thats their policy now for Live! phones so nothing new there

as for not releasing unbranded for a period of times, well I guess thats down to vodafone rather large presence in the phone world

but this is stuff thats all been said time and time again and whining here or petitions is not, unfortunately, going to change a thing

so if its exclusive for VF only for 3-4 months. it will take another 1-2months before the none branded V800 hits the market, and they'll miss the shopping season.

ok. this might be a bit off topic but, how is cdma 1x, cdma 2x, utms and 3g different? cdma is supposed to be 3g, right? and here is a very good operator offering cdma services. will the v800 phone work on that operator then?

Hopefully the other Networks will be 3G soon enough so it can be released SIM free.

I think the fact we only had '3' & how bad it is was part of the reason why the UK will now never see the Z1010

O2 are looking at probably february for 3G launch and even then they'll be keeping it on the quiet.

Was on a course the other day and we got to play with a Z1010 on O2 3G, made a video call etc. Not bad at all.

HI EVERYONE....

the exclusivity with vodafone initially will run for 3-4mths. At this time Vodafone will look into the sales figures for the v800 and forecast sales for next 2-4mths. If the forecast is good they have a clause to get another 2mths exclusivity on the phone. until then SE's hands are tied behind their backs as a penalty will arise if they release an unbranded model.

Hope this help clear things.

Yeah.

It'll eventually come out unbranded, but if Voda paid to get the phone I dont' see a problem with them only having it I've seen the live on it and the S700i, its not quite as horrid as past 3 crayon efforts.

Not that I like the branding, but lets face it, its their service they'll brand how they want to. To me its s annoying as TV networks who continyally keep a ghosted network symbol on their programming. You grow not to notice it.
