The k700 sends a 'beep' sound to the other end when the recording starts.
Nice feature, but requires some handling-buttonpushing so it may take some time before you are actually recording. Recording is saved in sounds folder, name is that of the caller and icon that of the one you have put next to the number of the caller (mobile, house, ...).
Nifty I'd say.

Agree, lots of button pushing !! Same situation if you want to use the hands free speaker option during a call.
Would be nice to have a quicker way to activate either option.

lots of button pressin?? just use shortcuts and you'll have to press just two buttons...one is joystick and other is the position of the feature you wanna use in the list that pops up. on my k500 its joystick+2 for record and joystick+4 for speakers...simple!!

I used mine talking with Vodafone, when they denied stating my end of contract dates, I had the last laugh when they tried to bill me for £187 for coming out of contract early !!! I then told them if they can record/monitor calls, so can I.
They put a £187 credit on my bill.

@clank....good idea for using the shortcut keys for it. Record a sound no probs but I cant find the speaker option to setup a shortcut to it, unless I'm missing something it's only available during a call ?
Any ideas ?

'Shortcuts' is mostly used to refer to functions assigned to buttons that can be accessed directly, such as joystick left to write new message, but sometimes it is also used to refer to the fact that you can choose an item in a list by pressing the number corresponding to the position of the mnu item, eg. from desktop menu in k700 press # to go to the 12th item being settings, or when calling, press joystick and then 4 to put the speaker on, instead of joystick-down, down, down, down, joystick or left button.
The menu's in the traditional Ericsson phones and most of the SE phones with b&w screens had numbers next to it so you didn't have to guess or count - which was useful because usually you could not see all the menu items on the screen at once, which you can with most SE colour-screen phones.

Thanks....used to use the menu shortcuts by pressing the corresponding numbers ect on my old 3310.
Didn't think you could setup a shortcut to external speaker. However,whilst in a call pressing the joystick then key 5 will do nicely !
