they are one company.

sony is another company
ericsson is yet another company

I suspect has the last word in all matters. Like my company has the last word in it;s own decisions (and not the neighbours, the competition, the major or anybody else)
It's really not a very comlicated concept to grasp

I really really really wish this continuous 'sony vs ericsson' discussion would end now

Vlammie your opinion is very well based about common work and unity, but think there is nothing wrong with it if we discuss of it. Me and guess some others aswell do compare past and present even known we live in a new era. Aslong nobodx get hurt, why not? This message was posted from a T68

because you all act as if is not one, but two companies when in reality it isn't. You're discussing things that exist only in your imagination. The merger took place well over 3 years ago. A new company emerged, it's called Sony Ericsson and it's been surviving.

If you must compare, you oughta use the real Ericsson AB against Sony company......... oh wait! when was the last time either produced a mobile phone?

I mainly dare to compare /// and se or /// and sony. I still use my oldies and they serve me well, so why does it disturb u when i see things with another eye. U can be sure, my vote goes for se at fighting or defending a brand. Loyalty is based on /// at me and cos of another point of view in another person. This message was posted from a T68

yeah but these people own the company, and i think they would know!

its just interesting because we have never really heard a proper statement from someone high up in sony ericsson about each part of the company, sony, and ericsson, its always been from people lower down.

and i think they have made sense it what they have said!

That maybe so and I'm sure that the owners do have have a pretty good grasp on the performance of their company, long may the succes continue and bring us great product !!

However, this is a massive company and I very much doubt that the top boys are that 'hands on' Sourcing parts, suppliers, managing engineering budgets, project managers having to get everybody talking, manufacturing, engineering, planning, buyers sourcing, distribution and so on....it's just too big !

Everything gets filtered upwards as is does downwards thats the way it works.

In my experience it is usually the people 'lower down' as you put it, (i would be inclined to say at the front line) that have their fingers on the pulse and make a company succeed or not, lets face it, poor performance from the workforce will effect the quality of a product. Increased manufacturing cost due to poor operational performance can have impact on what we have and when we have it.

It may be that that suffer minimal issues due to excellent performance and everything is just peachy !

Nevertheless It is the people at the front line that I would be interested in hearing from. The people that really know whats achievable in the next few years based on technoligy available and whats really achievable from a budget, production and project timescale point of view.

I have to agree with Vlamm with regards to the point she was making on SE being one company. There is nothing wrong with appreciating Sony or Ericsson, but to infer that SE is anything, but a single company is both pointless and a waste of time. SE are one company and they make decisions for themselves.

Sony Ericsson are not Sony and they are not Ericsson, it is an independent company, which owes no formal allegiance to the design concepts of either Sony or Ericsson. That SE choose to implement design concepts from either company is more to do with the fact that they are a new company and are able to draw upon two rich sources of design.

One can compare Sony and Ericsson, one can compare Sony Ericsson and Sony and one can also compare Sony Ericsson and Ericsson, but any internal comparisons about SE are pointless, unless, that is, one is an employee of SE.
