im not really interested in edge, also doesnt the s710 not have radio or something like that? ive started saving my money and im gonna add the money i get from x-man with it so hopefully thatll put me a good ways there.
my trend of falling into SE phones just might continue (well i have a mpx200 that i use sometimes but im not counting that)

I prefer the d500 design. The S700 is too bulky IMO. If we talk about price however, I think d500's features are not worth the extra bucks.

Well it seem here can get a free phone for D500 is paying some limits of tariff and u can't get free phone for the S700i in UK. So you can see the difference..
In D500, u can't get expandable memory storage, u can get 80MB of internal memory and one advantages from Samsung D500 is the bluetooth. So most ppl can say it's kinda big difference between D500 with E800 or E810/E820.

Feature per feature, the S700 would win. I only prefer the D500 because I like it's design better than the S700, but that's just my opinion.

I've got a D500 an I'm very impressed with the Camera, not sure how it compares to the S700, but I would say in that the software is not a good as on SE phones

D500 has NOT Voice Dial recognition.
Pretty bad, if the Cell is used together with a BT h'set... (you have to grab the Phone to make a call)
IMO Samsung has still to grow in regard of the BT compartment...

EDITED: just for clarity, I've to admit that it DOES exist one enhanced version (D500e, available in Italy TIM branded/unlocked for just 404 €) that:
- adds Voice commands (even digit per digit dial)
- adds EDGE support
- comes in Silver colour only
..What I sentenced came true: D50x = D500e
