Hey, I used TMS to update my firmware to R2AE by flashing both files like you guys. Has anyone managed to mute the camera shutter sound? I thought we would be able to do it in this firmware, and i'm pretty sure those who updated with the DaVinci software can :S

you have to do phone reset after switching on your phone like it says on the server software when you select k700i

Had already tried a reset and it didn't work, even a full reset. So I had to flash it again, which meant I used up a credit just for a firmware flash which is meant to be free

Yes, I read those instructions within the software and followed what it said: so I did a settings reset. However, the shutter sound remains when in silent mode and when the meeting profile is selected. I also tried the reset again just to make sure, but the shutter sound is still present.

@ Tom..

Well has the Camera Improved in any way..! Better picture/low noise/vibrant colours etc..!

Is it possible to update the firmware by using a Data Cable..
Unfortunately for me, My warranty is due to expire in Jan and the service center has still not recieved the R2AE..Although I saw a K 700 with R2AA...! Can anyone review the firmware and update, just incase I need to Pay for the upgrade at least money should be worth it...!

I think that the new camera software results in pictures with less noise, from what I have seen so far anyway. The camera is also maybe a bit more responsive during movement. Another improvement I noticed was that I actually managed to get a good quality picture when using the light, maybe its just me but this was hard to do before.

Yeah, sure

here you go, old image (3.9 camera driver):

new image (3.10 camera driver):

Both were taken with the same camera settings ("Large" picture size and "fine" quality). I tried to capture the same scene, although the dog wouldn't sit still today

I think the newer one is a bit sharper, but overall there is a only a small increase in picture quality really - nothing major IMO.

That newer pic with 3.10 looks awesome! Where can I get it (3.10)?

Btw, anyone found a solution to the camera shutter sound?? Got my phone yesterday, and I'd really want to take some pics without noise (=without anyone noticing, that is! )

@juleyah

No, the picture taken with camera v3.10 doesn't look better than the picture with 3.9 - look at the cleaner at the right side of the picture. It's worse with the new driver... anyway, R2AE033 is by far the best firmware - rock solid!

About the camera sound, go to Davinci and use their service - it's the best!
