@batesie: What would be the consequences of overclocking a device, if I may ask? This message was posted from a P800

Good things:
Phone running faster
Loading/installing software quicker

Bad Things:
Battery life cut in half
Burning out the CPU
Totally frying the main board

But hey, theres a bad side to everything!!

@batesie: I hear you, man. But I will gladly keep my default processor speed. Its not like I want to run CorelDraw on my p800! :) This message was posted from a P800

Yep, ALL processors are underclocked to keep them stable.

It would make V-Rally might run a little smoother though

@batesie
You could always install a small fan, Keep the beast cool!

I think that the overall increase in speed in case of overclocking is not important.it is worthless to overclock a p900 considering the risks of frying the mb. This message was posted from a P900

@sosojerk: Yes. I am wondering what app it is I would need to run on a P-series that would be worth the trouble. This message was posted from a P800

Hi,

Anyone here tried launching apps on Xscale 250Mhz and above devices? I love my P900 and my P910i, but when launching apps on my P900 and P910i (C++ based apps) it takes so much longer than launching apps of even bigger files sizes on those Xscale PPC based machines (VB based apps). It is slightly better when installing all my apps on C: drive, but still it is way behind the speed of even a 250Mhz Xscale processor

I find it strange but C++ based apps are much smaller in terms of file sizes as compared to VB based apps. C++ apps also have the advantages of not needing to load a whole lot of VB dll files (like appforge based apps) prior to be able to start the actual app, but still, it is still a tad too slow as compared to PPC

I think the P910i should have at least a 250Mhz processor and am really in support for whoever who can come out with such an overclocking app for the Px00/P910i...

Cheers
