question - do I have to have wap access through GPRS or full internet access? cuz I only have wap access through GPRS

Sorry dude. You must have full internet. Normal wap access wont work.

They're saying that you can install a Symbian app/J2ME midlet and point it to their server. I've tried to do this with various Jabber J2ME apps w/ configurable server name, but it didn't work.

IM+ for java phones works great on my Orange k700i with gprs wap,u can be on msn,yahoo,aol,icq and jabber at the same time if u want. But it costs about £12 altho u can pay thru paypal,well worth the cash! :-D
