i been saying this for ages!
i think not following the numbers on is just a ploy so people dont notice that one models "replacement" is actually the same phone with a new express on cover.

I think 'Nature' has something there. Nokia's ploy has definitely got us confused.

Wazuki, I believe the problem with your theory is inconsistancy that is the general trend but for each statement theres an exception, so theres no definate pattern.

@wazuki - there is a slight problem with your categorizing. Take the 6670 and 7610,both are the same with a different keypad and pdf support in the former, so how can one be business and the other fashionable ?

Well, even news articles say that 6670 is a business version of 7610 for people that dont like fancy 7610 keyboard and 7610 been advertised in my country as "they who dont have good taste are dead" and i kno 100% that 6 is business and 7 is fashion- i read it. And maybe 3 is experimental series. Ya know that 3300 player.

They shouldve started from the number 1. Imagine that! 'dude i just bought a nokia 4!' it would be so much easier to determine the latest model :D

I would say that they are smart. They've got a lot of people buying Nokia's thinking that they are getting a whole new phone and not the same one but with a different keypad and housing (faceplates).
