Hi,

I've had that problem on my old P900, and i think it was due to grease being on the screen. It's a really horrible sound that it makes and if you let it continue, you will end up with some serious scratches on the screen. You need to give the screen a good wipe with a damp cloth, and i would recommend that you take off the front part of the fascia, as it allows you to clean the edges of the screen where most of the dirt ends up. After this i suggest you buy a screen protector, just to be on the safe side.

Hope this helps.

I think ure talking abt the sound it makes

The screen makes a sound as when its touched, U confuse that with scratching then u get used to it.

When i got my P8 at first I thought it was scratching.

When clean the screen feels smooth & glides. It feels 'scratchy when dirty.
Try cleaning it again with something moist (not too wet that could cause water damage obviously)

You may also want to get a screen protector

I'm not getting confused with the sound the screen makes when you tap it. I have the same scratching problem on my old P900, and when you're writing on the screen it makes a horrible scratchy noise, and you feel like the stylus is really digging into the screen. After a good clean, however, this issue seems to go away, for a while at least.

I screwed up a screen from that damn scratching, didn't matter how many times i cleaned it. Don't make the same mistake i did, the screen has had to be replaced on it now. Get yourself a screen protector!

It may be small scratches almost invisible on the screen caused by the stylus and much handwriting that causes this scratching sound...

My screen on my P900 was awful after 3 months, i write very long e-mails and notings daily using the handwriting recognition.

After 4 months my P900 stopped working! I sended it back and did get a new one on warranty, the first thing i did on my new unit was to add a screen protector. Now after 4 months my screen is perfect and shall so be...

If you write a lot on the screen, get a screen protector. If you use that silly little virtual keyboard you ca skip it...

And yes, i use a very little pressure when i write...

i don't use h/w recognition anymore..but when i did,i occasionally encountered this noise.upon close inspection,it seemed to be a small grain of dirt.try wiping your stylus or screen...it worked for me. This message was posted from a P910

Don't worry, i'm lucky enough to own another P900 now for the crazy price of £100, and it's brand new. My other one is over 12 months old so i can't get it replaced under warranty. I'm definately going to get a screen protector for the new one, until then, i'll just have to use multitap.

Save yourself some costly repairs, get your screen protected..
