you could probably stick the wifi memory stick into that but the phone wouldn't do anything with it without some sort of driver

I dont think the faraday cage thing would be a problem with phones as they are plastic and i`m pretty sure that they dont constitute a faraday cage (you dont see many phones with external aerials nowadays, so its unlikely they would block wifi signals). i think the external bit would be more to do with the size of aerial needed, although i dont know what frequencies wifi uses. The driver however would be a different matter, i think uiq only allows access to the memory sticks filesystem and i`m pretty sure these cards use a different system altogether, it might be possible in a future firmware, but i cant see why they would bother, they`d rathere spend the money on future phones with wifi capability so you have to buy one of them if you want it
