Well thought I would update this thread in case anyone has this issue in future...

I finally got it working - only problem is I have little idea how I actually did it.

I didn't even get around to using Davinci. I just took it home, plugged it into the power charger (to give it a full battery before taking to SE centre) and I saw 'optimised charging' appear on display. Thought that was a bit odd as it had been dead to the world so gave the power button a press. Lo and behold - it spranf back into life.

Only thing I can think is that it was something to do with the battery charge or needing the power lead connected as before that the only time I got the display to come it was coming up with error messages (before I reflasahed it using Totalserver again)?????

k7 r2ae software has multiple word search in phonebook... meaning u can enter not only 1 letter but 2 or 3 letters for easier to search
