I fear that nobody from SE will be reading these forums and if they were then little will come of it. I have sent a request via their support web site for what good it will do. Perhaps others could do the same.

Yes, that's what I realises too, cos after I feedback to my local SE about this, again I was told that I am the only person complaining about it

Really hoped that more and more people will call up their local SE support and file a complain about this, and I guess only in this way will SE ever really hear us, but whether or not they will do anything about it is another question altogether I am afraid...

What you guys are talking about is actually nothing more than the difference between two different bluetooth profiles - handsfree and headset - the "Nokia headset locking" is actually the handsfree profile and this is exactly how the handsfree profile is supposed to work (and for some reason Nokia's have never supported headset profile) - the headset will remain connected at all times until you specifically disconnect.
I believe the P910 is the first Pxxx to support handsfree profile rather than just the headset profile, and its the headset profile where the headset connects and disconnects as required. So previously on a P900 and P800 you would have only had the headset profile anyway, and older SE phones like the T610 could be switched between profiles.
The problem is there is no way on the P910 to choose whether you want to be able to use handsfree or headset profile, and the default if supported by a device is handsfree rather than headset. The only exception I have found is the Motorola HS820 which although it supports both headset and handsfree, my K700i and T610 both insist it only supports headset and not handsfree.
Now the T610 used to have a really nice option to switch the handsfree type between "auto" and "powersave" which would have the effect of switching between using handsfree and headset profiles, but from the K700i onwards this useful option has dissappeared and its this option which SE should be putting back onto their phones.

I sent an email to SonyEricsson support and this is their reply:-
"Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.
With regards to your enquiry, the auto feature of the P800 was not incorporated in later phones to increase user security using bluetooth. There was a known issue with some handset of the same genre that had security flaws and data was accessible by any bluetooth device because of this. This has been stopped now due to the new and improved bluetooth features that your handset and handsets of its genre now have."
I wasn't aware that there was a security issue with this. I await our forum experts to comment!
