My phone does not give me a battery charged message when it gets charged full. Why is that? Even when charged while off

@whizkidd: No wonder it never tells you "fully charged". The poor thing is hoping you'll keep off for as long as possible :-D

AYA, do they really say fully charged? Don't think on the T230 it does.

Now I don't mean to sound offensive, but that's a trifle sad at the best of times... Go out, socialise, and use your phone as a TOOL, not as a means of faking a social life.

What do you expect me to do when i have a vacation? And i love being on Esato. And this is not faking socialising. I have met and made some really good friends here on Esato. No offence! :-D

Slightly harsh lozishere! Anyway, there is no need for a phone or any electronic device to have a rest. In many mission critical systems a lot of time and effort goes into ensuring thermal stability of the systems. You don't do that by switching it off! If a system is thermally stable, all sorts of stresses on the system are reduced. The only exception to this is where there are moving parts involved. Then you have to consider the wear on these parts set against the benefits of a thermally stable system. A phone is not a critical device and you should use it however it suits you. The wear and tear on the on/off switch is far more significant than anything that could be hoped to be gained by turning it off. You can run it 24 hours per day without problem. Although periodic reboots will help reclaim memory.
