Use one of the servers to fix your phone, only one credit needed, not that expensive. I recommend Setool but as you have dss for davinci use that. Much easier than taking it to a service centre.

@Solarix
Your phone has suffered from corrupted/damaged firmware when the Sony Ericsson Update Service was used. Please read this post by me from a few months back (obviously Sony Ersicsson has not fix the problem with their Update Service):

I'm beginning to think that Sony Ericsson actually is stupid enough not to understand that there is a problem with their service that actually damages the firmware on the K700i.

I think

should close down/fix their Update Service since it only causes more problems than solutions

That is one on the main reason why I do not want to flash the phone myself. Worried something go wrong. If upgrade at service centre, any problem, blaim on the technician and get them to swap a new phone...

Thanks mate, you've wrote exactly my problem! before I read your post I thougth something wrong with my computer, but now I'm sure that it's SE fault! I really unsatisfy

for this buggy service!
Anyway, I sent my phone to SE service center and waiting for that to be alive again!

I have recently flashed my FW to R2AE at an SE service centre, and I also have the same problem. My phone is ComvIQ branded and there is now no other problem than that the SE startup-logo looks very strange, about half of it is very pixelated and distorted. I asked them to re-flash the phone, and so they did (a couple of times!) but the problem is still present. Couldn't care less about such a tiny little problem though, just hope there is nothing more in there..
