siemens won't sell their mobile division. =)

as for the announcement on their final decision on the 27th, it won't happen. it's too soon to decide according to Heinrich von Pierer, for now, the options remain the same: restructure, sell, cooperate or close. for now, the fight goes on...75-series is on its way.

the chairman also hinted a rule out of a complete closure:
"Closing it would destroy a lot of value. The Siemens brand alone is extremely valuable," the chairman said.

that is so untrue.
don't hate nokia just for the sake of hating them. they wouldn't be #1 if they're not doing anything right.
anyway, i like siemens phones too. so it would really be a bad idea to kill the brandname/image.

Indiandawg's submisson is definitely incorrect. And there's really no point going into another round of debate over Nokia. I would feel something was missing in the mobile world should Siemens simply cease to exist. I really would.

I've bought my new M65 just a month ago, and i'm so happy.
I love siemens phones, and if the sell that division, i don't think that any other company will make the phones with the same quality.
i hope they fix their troubles.

@GOwin
Hi there every one I have ever suggested looking at SE phones has come up with the same argument against change "Hmm nice phone but I am used to the Nokia software" perhaps it's that widespread fear of change that helps keep Nokia No1 rather than any real inovation? not saying it's the only reason they are no1 but perhaps it has some bearing?

This week, Siemens and its 430.000 employes will get a new CEO, Klaus Kleinfeld. A history from a dinner in Munich last November should be enough to describe his courage:
"A Italian journalist waved his Nokia phone in Kleinfeld's face and asked how Siemens can compete with the market leader. Kleinfeld replied by snatching the Nokia and dropping it in a glass of water. The message: We'll drown the competition. (Kleinfeld later gave the journalist an M65 instead)"
