I think buying this charger is like buying an insurance policy. You'll never really know when it will become useful but you'll be glad it's there when that time comes.

I have got one and it was very useful when i got off the plane in the US and my batt was dead. But ive never used it again. I think its too big to be one of those things that you keep on you JUST IN CASE. But that will teach me, my arm hurt after a while winding that thing. Ive only used with an SE and it worked great for me too.
Well lets wait and see what they come up with next.

It wqont work if you do it too fast though... dremmer would be good, but why not just use the same plug to charge your phone.

I've got one of those wind-up chargers - not acutally used it properly yet though as I have chargers all over the place - mains chargers in the house, one in the car 'just in case', an in-car charger, etc. It is good to have just in case you're caught away from the mains or the car, but so far that situation hasn't come up yet.

I always carry a usb charger and/or sync/charger as I'm rarely far from a PC. even my laptop can charge most of my devices if there was a power outtage
at the moment I can use the USB to mini USB sync/charge that came with my Moto V3 to charge the V3 and the JAM and although it doesn't charge my Garmin Quest it can still do data transfers of maps etc which is pretty good for one cable. The I have another sync/charge for my iPAQ and a 3rd with switchable tips for SE, Nokia and older Motorola phones.
with these 3 small cables I never have to carry an a/c adaptor for my evberyday devices nor do I have to have coverters for the different wall plug styles for the different countries I go to
One day all electronics will be able to charge from a common source I hope

@masseur - my laptop's that old it doesn't even have a USB port on it!
maybe one day when I make my fortune I'll be able to buy a laptop with USB ports, a CD drive, and be able to keep hold of the time and date after the battery goes flat!
