The Motorola V3 is rubbish!
Why?
I work in one of the biggest phone stores in Australia (it's the biggest in the state, Queensland) and the V3 is our biggest-selling phone by far, yet we're getting nearly half of what we sell come back with charging problems; we're getting 5-10+ come back a day (we're having the same problem with the Motorola V620)!
It's gotten THAT bad that our Managers have told us to discourage the purchase of a V3 at all costs, telling us to avoid them if possible!

I've had 2 V3s so far and have experienced any charging problems with either?
I would expect most people buy the V3 for its styling rather than its functionalitym certainly I think thats my main reason!

yeah..
i guess if people are more inclined towards style than functionality (and this is like large part of the higher end market), the v3 will do phenomenally well.
as far as a complete range of v3 phones goes, i think it is a good idea, since they're banking on a concept that is already well known.. so marketing costs will be lower and there'll be a lot of space to actually expand the market.

I certainly don't like this black approach that moto have taken so I hope they have some more shiny ones

Masseur,
Totally agree with you on that one. I purchased a Sony T3 5meg phone and returned it the same day for the brushed alluminium one.... why? because the darn thing scratches and chips like there is no tomorrow...

doesnīt really matter how little the internal memory is as long as itīs expandable , does it?
Yes it does! You can't move games/apps to a mem card. So you can easily fill it up.

candybar V3... that would be nice...
dont forget guys, it seems that most of the people who buy the razr v3 (in my opinion, from what i have seen here) are usually business type people, or people who are trying to look nice and all. then there are the the cell phone people like us. but you cant forget everybody doesnt care so much about all the other features like we do. they want the phone to look nice, which makes them look good. all they care about alot of the time is making phone calls. I have talked to a few, and they didnt even know you can hook up a cell phone to the computer (with BT, IR, or data cable!). so everyone is complaining about the V3, then just dont buy it if you dont like it

but what i said is what i have personally noticed...

EastCoastStar that's probably right. I have a V3 and all I want it to do is make calls, send texts and take the odd picture. I am a complete gadget freak but my iPods, iBooks and digital camera etc take care of that for me nicely.
I played around with the SE S700i for a week or so but sent it back because of probems. Then when I was looking for a replacement I realised that I didn't use 90% of the features on my previous phone, an SE T630.
Frankly, it's a long way off before a mobile will play music as well as my iPod or organise my life as well as my iBook so until then I'll keep them all separate.
It's not necessarily as straightforward as gadget or non gadget people but these phones are ultimately still just phones, so I'm not going to get excited just yet!

Until such time, the V3 looks cool and suits me just fine!
