No luck. After oodles of trying it ended up saying:

"There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator"

Then:

"Your operator does not approve the usage of this server...blah di blah"

Dunno if the update service is just unavailable at the moment or not. Hopefully its not cos its Vodafone branded, but knowing my luck it will be.

All I want is mp3 ringtones! I'm in the UK on Vodafone - had no idea about the branding thing beforehand to be honest. I presume there's more to the idea than just disabling some features (such as firmware upgrades, mp3 ringtones, etc) as I can't see the point in it!!
