3rd Generation mobile phone data connectivity.
1st generation was: GSM (slow)
2nd generation was: GPRS (still slow)
3rd generation is: UMTS / WCDMA (reasonable)
In the UK Vodafone says "Vodafone 3G" to their UMTS / WCDMA network.
In Holland they don't use the 3G name, but just Vodafone UMTS.

I think you mean the imate pda2k EV-Do 3g 1x. Its the CDMA EV-Do version of the pda2k, also the first windows mobile 3g phone. Unfortunately it is not UMTS and doesn't have video calls.
