It might be possible using P910 firmware on a P900 mainboard, but i seriously doubt it. Like i said, i'll give it a try tomorrow and post the results.

Update!
As many of you were asking, i decided to test the P910 flip on a P900 phone.
It did
not work. Even though the phone was responding to the keys being pressed, it was not doing the desired action.
For example, pressing a number would bring up my Contacts.
I didn't bother trying the P900 flip on a P910 because
A) It's pointless
and B) If the P910 flip doesn't work in the P900, then it's not going to work the other way around either
Here are some pictures of the internal pins of both phones.
P900 Pins
P910 Pins
P900 Flip Contacts
P910 Flip Contacts
Hope this puts your mind to rest.

Good work djkizlive. Now we can all stop wondering.
Interesting that it does something though. But not very useful.

Perhaps different results may be obtained with P910 firmware on a P900, but i don't have one to test it on right now.
For my next project, i want to put a blue backlight in the P910's flip. What are your thoughts on this? Possible or not?

Hi,
Backlight on my P910i is not uniform. There is some variation in the colour as some of the keys (1,4,7,*) illuminate in a dull bluish-white colour where as the rest illuminate in the purplish-pink colour which I suppose is the right one. Also the backlight is not as bright as it is on other phones of the same type I have seen. Is there anyway to replace the Existing LED's with new brighter ones, if so, where can I get them from. Also I would like to the person who tested P910i's flip on P900, where did you get a P910i flip from, as Im interested in buying a new one incase nothing can be done as these wierd backlight really bothers me.
Cheers

It shouldn't be too difficult to get surface mount LEDs for the P910i flip. not sure about the screen though. Here in the states you can find any number of cell stores that will do the soldering for you.

If you didn't notice from the pictures, i had a P910 AND a P900 during testing. So to answer your question 'where did you get a P910i flip from' - funnily enough, i got it from a P910
As for the LED problem, i don't think replacing them will make a difference. LED's either work, or they don't work, there isn't such thing as a 'dull' LED, especially not in a row. There must be something faulty within the keypad, or worse still, maybe the phone is faulty (the keys get the power from the phone via the pins i showed you on the previous page).

It won't be difficult to get the LED's for the flip, but it would be very difficult to get the flip apart in one piece, and it would be pretty much impossible so get the old LED's off without destroying the keypad. Even if you did manage to get them off, soldering the new LED's on would be a mission impossible, and you'd probably need a soldering iron tip no thicker than a needle, along with a magnifying glass. I don't have this sort of kit.
If any cellphone shop took a phone in for a modification of such magnitude i'd be very suprised, i doubt anywhere here in the UK would do it, they wouldn't have a clue what you're on about.
Seeing as though the LED's are a bright white colour, similar to that of many Nokia's, why don't you get yourself a really dark blue coloured piece of plastic (thin enough to bend, thick enough to emit blue light through it), and place this over the top of each white LED. This will, in effect, give you blue backlights.
Another idea i had, was to get the two pieces of plastic from a P910 dummy phone (i happen to have one for sale

) where the blue and green status LED's shine though. These are blue and green tinted pieces of plastic.
Blue & Green = Purple, Green & Blue = Purple.
Do you see where i'm going with this? If you took out the two clear pieces of plastic from a normal P910, and placed the blue piece over the green LED, and the green piece over the blue LED, and then, maybe you would get purpleish coloured status lights. That would be pretty damn cool if you ask me.
There's loads of mods i would love to try on my P910, but i don't like taking it apart too much.
I'd try it with my P900, but that's up for sale as well, so i'm not going to touch that.
Let me know what you think peeps!
