Disagree to everyone above. Anothere user clank was also able to see ribs hosted by Esato without loging in. It was Esato pics and not hot linked ones. This message was posted from a T230

To view the pics on the Esato server you need to be logged in (we all know that), to be logged in you need to be a member (we all know that as well). So, to be able to enjoy every aspect of Esato you need to be a member.
That is why.

Those pics some can see without being logged in will be on pages recently viewed. Ie; they are still in the history of your computers memory depending on the cache settings.

I also think it to be right that you can only view pictures when logged in.

If people are that interested and want to view the pictures then come register, have some input, it's free !

Yes, it is possible to view images hosted by Esato while you're not logged in.

These yellow and green dots are hosted by esato. You'll see the green and yellow dot when you're logged in, while you'll only see the yellow one when you're not logged in.

had you already logged in and viewed both images such that they were then cached and viewable after you logged out?

I just went to another pc with internet explorer in our office and another sun machine with netscape neither of which have ever viewed esato and this test worked as advertised

@* Image viewing in Esato is back to normal on my pc today! Meaning, I can't view some images when I'm not logged in. This is the way it's always been on my pc except the other day when I posted about it.

It may seem trivial but I really do prefer that the images I upload be seen by fellow Esato members only. I am proud of Esato and an extension of that pride is my trust in the members' discretion, i.e., I know that most of us here won't abuse uploaded images.

@vlammetje -- @govigov was obviously using T9 WITHOUT looking at the screen. "Ribs" is produced by the same keystroke for "Pics," which is what he obviously meant to write.
