@jcwhite_uk: good point. But its a 'toss-up' between cheaper cust. service number, face to face service and poor tariff extras (txt / mins etc) vs. v.good tariff and extras (more favourable if your a 'heavy user')
After 4 years with 02. i have never had to go into a store when i had problems! Ive never had any problems with either PAYG or Contract which required a 'face to face' contact. A quick email to 02 always sorted it out (although sometimes slower than wished!). And when you email 02, it doesnt matter if your an 'online' customer or a 'store' customer as there are direct emails for each listed on the 02 website. This saves you any cust. service call costs unless you have major problems with the phone which in this day and age are very rare! 02 retail stores do deal with online customers as if you have a problem which needed fixing resulting in an FW update, 02 advise you to take it to your local 02 store for the service.
@golden face: yeah the annual cost is cheaper but if your a power user and start adding 'bolt-ons' they annual cost so rises to and beyond what you'd be paying for the online deal depending which amount of 'bolt on' txts you add to your account.
At the end of the day its all down to preference. if your a power user, id recommend the online tariffs. if you want to play it safe, go retail only if your a 'light user'. Be careful of 'bolt-ons' as the annual cost will rise and be more expensive than compared to the deal a 'heavy user' will be benefiting from!
