If their new focus is now going to be on music, will we see some higher end phones without a camera (or see at least one)? I'm sure that there's a market for it as a lot of workplaces do not allow a camera phone anymore.

Maybe they're fairly happy with the way camera technology is progressing and therefore want to focus on the music side of things, which is becoming a massive market from a download point of view.
Legal music downloads are becoming such a massive market today, outselling cd's, with the billboard chart including them within the top 100, and a UK top 20 download chart things are moving fast (can't remember the exact figure but in excess of 200,000 downloads last year in the uk i think) they probably see a market for their mobile devices to sit in and increase their profitability by jumping on the bandwagon sooner rather than later.
With net access the mobile device is already there, increased media support, memory, faster, cheap downloads will perhaps encourage a big surge in digital music on mobile devices.
Can't wait to plug mine staight into my hifi

I suppose with soooo many members here at Esato, you can be sure that there's pretty much always someone thinking on the same lines or posting a similar thread as yaself
The search is great, but even that can be a little time consuming from to trawl trough. With more than 1000000 posts you can be sure there are plenty covering most topics.

I disagree, with merging technology its bound to happen and thy cannot protect sonys market place, rather they can add to it
sony make video cameras but we can still video record, they also make radios yet several SE models have radios

I agree guys, sony can't have the monopoly here !
I expect that

will add to their phones whatever they feel will give them the 'edge' over their competitors.
