My service provider is Cingular in the States and I just upgraded to the new firmware with the dss-25 and www.se.com. The light comes on all the time and also there is static all over my other electronic devices (like my speakers) It is really anoying actually. I am not running any apps in the back ground or anything, i just lock my phone automatically and usually i have a ringtone that is silent for 2 seconds before it starts ringing in case I am close to the phone I can see that someone is calling me and I can answer before the phone rings, but now I feel like the phone is going to start ringing everytime my screen comes on. I don't know what else to do. I will call SE and if they find a solution I will post another message here. If anyone else find something out please let me know!

Ok, I just got off the phone with SE and they told me that I should re download the firmware which I have as R2AE033
I suppose that is the latest firmware, I am not sure, anyway they said that if that didn't work to do a master reset, which I haven't done. I have to back some suff up before I do this, I'll probably do it tonight. Then they said that if that doesn't work, i'll have to send it to the service center, because it might be the phone.
I'll keep you guys updated, but it is really odd when it turns on, defenitly it is alive!!!!

Is this affecting only a particular firmware version? Those whe have this problem on their K700 check out whether they have the same firmware version! This message was posted from a T230

R2AE033 - I never had this problem (not when on R2A041, R2L001 or R2AA003 either).

Since many people seem to have the problem, then it's probably hardware specific... meaning some phones manufactured at a specific time etc.

No other recourse here I guess except to try upgrading with the latest - firmware. Then the author should make some 'progress' report . . . if it will be one ! Good luck ...
