Okay, listen VERY carefully, 'cause I'm only gonna explain this ONCE...

1. Go to and register at http://www.yamigo.com, if you have not already done so.
2. Configure your phone as instructed at the above Web site; the list of handsets is not as up-to-date as it should be, so follow the instructions for the recent handset of the same brand as yours...

3. Open My Friends and click login.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
* Most networks will require you to use an Internet Access Point (also known as "i-GPRS," "iGPRS," "GPRS Internet," "Internet over GPRS" "HTTP WAP," "HTTP GPRS" and "Internet GPRS") to use My Friends, but unfortunately, most networks restrict this service to their contract/monthly customers; if you're a pre-paid/pay & go customer, you probably won't be able to use My Friends!

* "My Friends" is part of the "Wireless Village" project, which to a joint venture between Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia to bring real-time instant messaging to cell phones and other mobile devices. "Wireless Village" is know as "My Friends" on Sony Ericsson phones, "IM" on Motorola phones and "My Presence" on Nokia phones. Because of this, my comments in this thread relate to the Wireless Village service on all three brands of phone...

In Australia, Optus pre-paid/pay & go customers can utilize the Wireless Village service using Optus' Internet Access Point, but Vodafone Australia pre-paid/pay & go customers can utilize it for FREE using a standard WAP Access Point!

The My Friends feature isnt on my Orange z1010. I use the java 2 version of visual communicator from wap.sapio.se
I use the symbian version for my p900 and 6630 from the same site.
There is IM sw on the 6630 though.
Incidentally,Orange'sPTT Talk Now service which launched last year still only works on one of their earlier phones- the trium smartphone. It will work on new mid range nokia and motorola models this year they say.
Im amazed that PTT hasnt got its act together in the UK yet like in the US.
