@aya
The 1.3 mp cam of Zire is not that good comparing to s700i pics. Either get a good camphone together with a basic pda with good media capabilties or get a t68i and pair it with a good pda with a 1.3 mp cam (HP Ipaq 3400 series/New Asus MyPal)
Good luck mate

let us know how it goes.

Well, I have been using the

T300 / Ericson R520m + Palm Tungsten T3 for a year now. I almost went for a P900 but decided to get a two device combo instead. Here are a few reasons from the top of my head:
There are times when I want to go out and all I need is my wallet and T300. I dont wanna carry a bulky device around so I leave my T3 at home. For instance if I go to the nearby shop or go clubbing.
The T3 has a far bigger screen, I saw how Microsoft Excell looked on a P900 and ow it looked on a T3... trust me, there is a big difference !

I went for the T3.
There is a HUGE ammount of software out there available for the Palm, more than what is available for the P900 I guess, or at least it was easier to locate.... IMHO at least.
I had a look on the Palm forums to see what a Palm was capable of doing, the programs that was available, etc... It was good. Try KVPUG.org for starters. Then there is also MYPDAcafe.com too if I'm not mistaken.
The T3 has a 400Mhz processor, and it has a lot of firepower for videos and games, however I' not a gaming person, but I tot I'd just let U know, there are some really nice looking games for the Palm. Look for GTS racing(among others) by astraware and look at Warfare Inc. Look at the graphics
The main reason I choose a two device combo was because I use alot of ADOBE Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excell and Power Point. In my opinion, U cant beat a PDA when it comes to this if u compare a PDA with a smartphone.
If I want to surf the net, hey there is always BT and I can use GPRS from the phone

No problem. I dont need a smart phone for that
So, what I'm sayin' is for ME, the TWO most important reasons why I took the two device path is:
1) I dont want to have a bulky pocket ALL the time.
2) I PDA is the BEST if u use Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excell and Adobe while on the move. I'm a student and I want all my lecture notes and project reports to be at my fingertips when I'm on the move. If ou have a chance, try viewing one of these files on a smartphone and a PDA, then decide
Sorry if that was messy... I told ya, its off the top of my head. Hope it helped

Oh and BTW, ONE more thing, the stylus of the P900 is like a toothpick compred to the one on the T3 !!

@sanjeevjaya:

You have me cracking there! But yes, you did communicate. I can see what you mean about Word & PDF files on the P-series for example. Awful!
Thanks for the info, and if you have more, bring it on.

i guess this discussion is similar to a lot of others in respect to dual uses in phones be that pda/phone or camara/phone or, more recently, mp3 player/phone. it just depends on whether you don't mind the limiting of the capabilities you get when you merge functions into one handy, always on you, device.

@peeta: Very precise point there. It really is a matter of informed choice.
I basically do not need a camera, Word, Excel,PowerPoint, etc, so I have never been bothered by the cut-down versions of these on most smartphones.
In the final analysis, what I need are:
1. phone
2. capable Web browser
3. mail client
4. notepad-type application
Do I really need all the power and division of labor of a separate PDA & phone combination?
Answer seems obvious... But let's pursue the discussion further.

I've always used seperate devices. I prefer using two dedicated machines that can be carried seperatey; I feel that should I lose one device, I haven't lost everything. At the end of the day, it's an emotional decision.

@abs: Why did you do this to me?! You just hit the nail on the head. My greatest attraction to the 2 devices camp is the point you raised. One device can go in for repairs/upgrade/whatever and you'd still have the other. Good point

There's also a cost benefit - I need something that works, not a fashion statement. I still use a T68i and a Palm m505, both or which I bought at under 25% of original price as they were old stock.
