There is no way only one operator is gonna get license. It will either be for cdma or gsm in general.

Nope, reliance and tata will never want 3g licenses, only gsm players will need that. And yes, the licenses need to be issued individually, but they all are given on the same day, only in rare cases they may delay for one operator, the airtel has already been testing 3g. I will pm you a secret whiz.

can some1 explain wats the difference between gprs and edge(as in airtel kerala and elsewhere)...govi/wizz ,wats the monthly renal for gprs and edge in kerala...across operators.
and also wats the difference between the above 2 and 3g...like wats the internet speed of it like and also wat more features does it offer?does 3g have video streaming?
i think ntt and do co mo in japan started the 3g couple of years back. r they still following this 3g or hav they changed to something more faster??

well I guess here is point you missed..!DEA is already a partial 3G network..It accepts phones only above 1800 MHZ Spectrum...Has India's first EDGE network..Etc etc..But yes it would be a time when we can video call a person..But the time will come SOON..
