If you're just into 3-4GB memory, go for the 5GB iPod mini. I think it's cheaper than the 5GB Creative or iRiver -- most of all it's an iPod

Haha, no. The creative Zen Micro is cheaper, and its the same size as the iPod mini.

And many people don't realise before they buy an iPod, once you put music on there, you can't copy it to another PC or anything. Unless you put it on there in the iPOd's "Hard Drive" mode thingy, but then you can't listen to it. With the Irivers and creatives, you have complete freedom over which player you use on the PC, AND you can copy the music to another PC/Mac.

There you go. All good reasons why the Zen Micro or the H-10 is better than the iPod Mini. Oh and the zen micro looks better than the mini. The I-RIver looks pretty similar to the iPod mini, but meh, its got a colour screen, so think of it as a "Much better Ipod mini Photo".

The naivety and blind consumerism of the "iPod Roxors" type will not work on me.

Well yes you can, all that does is not have your music up to date. I mean, you can't stick Darude- Sandstorm on to an iPod, listen to it, then stick it on another PC. Thats what I mean.

Would have said Rio Carbon last year but having owned one the design has a weakness with the scroll wheel which is very easily damaged.

I've replaced with iPod mini 6GB (when it arrives) now that it has decent battery life. I considered H10 but read a lot of bad reports on it at moment. The Zen Micro was the main contender with the mini for me.

If you want a cheap player thats built like a "brick shit house" sounds awesome but navigation not the best then get a second hand or ebay MuVo2 or MuVo2 FM (built in radio).

Can't see why all the fuss about mp3 player with colour screen. Most of the time they are in your pocket or on belt clip.

Thx alot guys. I had something like sandisk or creative labs or say msi 5520, meaning not over 140usd. Has anyone here had something like that. Thanx for the links, too! I considered se z800+256mb also, but much time will pass before it gets to affordable price, and I need flash disk desperately. This message was posted from a T610
