Take a nail and a hammer and break the camera--- but nice and clean... then there you go no camera and no stupid expenses!!!

could you not remove the housing and place some black electrical tape over the lens? i mean if you are going to remove the camera it is still going to look like there is a camera there and im sure this method would produce the same effect in the camera software as completly removing it, then you could still use the flash!

Hmm, bit of a problem. If you inserted a circle of dark flat plastic above the lense but under the mirror assembly, such that the phones lense is covered and phone needs to be dissasembled, plastic removed, and reassembled before you can use the camera, your employer may wear it.

They also may say that even a perceived camera phone is inappropriate for your workplace, especially if the intention of that rules is so that people don't have to worry about camera phones. In that case it wouldn't matter whether the camera even worked, it would just be to mollify people who complain about camera phones, and to avoid complaints about the camera phone (even though it actually isn't a working camera phone, people will still complain). The employ may wish to avoid these issues altogether by not having something that even looks like a camera phone

sorry @theglassjaw, I just noticed I said virtually the same as you re: covering the lense! It is the obvious thing to do, yet probably still won't help Jo-man's situation.

haribofan2 said this was a daft post, well saying that in itself is daft. Is haribofan2 saying Jo-man isn't entitled to want to keep the K700 without the camera? It'd be a good phone even without the camera (all the more memory for mp3's!)

It'd be daft if you didn't have a good reason to have to remove it, but otherwise, go for it! I'm all for modding stuff, just for the fun of it!

Actually, a K700 without a camera is a good idea, isn't it? But would there be takers? And i really think removing a camera from a cam phones is really not worth the time and effort as mentioned earlier. This message was posted from a T230

Why is there people think to remove the camera physically from a camera-phone? It would damage the phone or if the removal successfully done I'm sure that the look of the phone will be so ugly.
(SE designer will be mad then...)

I have a better idea. Give me your K700 and I trade it with a non-camera phone.
LOL
