Enrico, thats right. In the past you had to discharge the battery all the way before recharging because they had the memory efect, with lithium batteries you don't have that problem any more.

Warning!!! DO NOT DISCHARGE LITHIUM BASED BATTERIES! Unlike NiCd or NiMH batteries, which need to be discharged... Lithium based batteries actually get damaged when discharged.

Once the phone goes to low-batt mode (red light flashes), you may charge the phone... do not wait for the battery to run down, or die completely. This damages the lithium cells and shortens the battery's over-all life...capacity stay the same, but # of recharge cycles gets reduced.

Our phones are not faulty or anything.... its trying to sell more units. Can't blame them too much... they need profits to survive. I just put the phone on the charger every other night when I go to sleep no matter how much battery life is available.

a spare battery wouldn't do that much since it is li-poly. the time your main battery reaches zero capacity, your spare batt would be more than halfway dead. unlike nicad batteries.

just juice it up whenever u go to bed, that's all. it is not harming the battery but even if it does, theyr so cheap these days, no problem.i use gprs all the time and i recharge mine 3 times a day! big deal- they've invented the car charger hehehe the best solution there is...if u have a car that is:)
