you cannot reinstall windows on the same partition can you? you would end up with 2 Windows' on the same drive..

@mero, i'm sure you can. Just run setup and it will copy all the default settings. If you are installing it, then what you say is true. @thug, b4 re installing, since you are using xp, enter in safe mode and do a system restore.

If you enter in safe mode, a window will pop up telling you something. You will have to click on yes or no. (I dont remember which, but i'm sure i have clicke it wrong a number or times.)

Press f8 MANY times very fast right after the hp logo disappears to enter safe mode. Anyway, what graphics card have you got?

Restart your computer, after the hp logo, start hitting the F8 key (keep on hitting it (dont press and hold)) and you will find the boot options.

i have only 3 options here....turn off,log off and stand by. got no safe mode option unlike my previous comp.howw do i restart comp in safe mode???
