The V3 alloy box is as classy as the phone.
A bit tricky to open but at least it makes it impossible for the lid to slide open causing your brand new phone dropping down on the tarmac on the way home from the shop.
(I did that once with a

phone and thought my hart scould stop!)
The W800 box will be an eyecatcher in the chelves in the shops.

But phones are never displayed in their boxes, at least not in UK shops

I'm guessing with that sort of packaging it'll give shops flexability to put it in both audio and cellular sections.

V3 box design has changed folks
the aluminum case was altd design,
has moved back to standard cardboard boxes.
so if you have a v3 in an alum id look after it!!

Well they certainly know what they're doing.
I can just see these piled high behind the counter in HMV and Virgin Megastores.
If they manage to bring these out in different colours this will definitely by a winner. They have managed to get a head start too.
