I really think that the first design is good, but I think that the keyboard should be a bit thinner, and then some aluminium placed on the edges of the phone, so that there is no gap, as shown in your picture!

Hmm... people have often complained about there being no aluminum or even wooden phones around... well, now there are!!

@mad_bob: it probably looks better on account of it having taken longer than 35 seconds with a paintbrush to do. Also it was made in 3d as opposed to 3d, so the perspective isn't such a bitch to get right!
