@blackspot, s60 is the symbian version that runs on nokia phones. The symbian version in SE pseries is UIQ. I hope you already know that. Now, if there are a 100 apps for the UIQ, there are 10000 apps for the s60, and both being symbian are equally matched. In short whatever the UIQ can do, the s60 can match it.(app functionality that is, not things like touch screen) the UIQ just does it in a more classy manner. This message was posted from a K500

I'm just saying you cant call it bad when compared to non symbian phones. Ofcourse s60 is horrible when compared to a UIQ.

Edit: some posts in the middle got deleted. Hence the double post.

the samsung D720 is also a series 60 (and has stereo speakers!) and is ALMOST luring me away from the K750.

the only advantage of symbian i see is more options of programs to run, although none seem any better than the standard SE software...

How many people can afford to buy a UIQ device? Not many, atleast in India. This message was posted from a T230

@gov, thanks for your explanation, although I already know basically how s60 and UIQ differ. The response I was expecting was the real advantage of using a mobile phone with s60 over a non-symbian phone. Are the thousands of applications for the s60 really something that makes a real difference in the real world -- I'm talking of course of practical day-to-day usage.

@blackspot, price is an important factor ain't it? S60 phones can do almost everything UIQ can. All at a lower price band. This message was posted from a T230
