You upload the files in the upload directory and run the install.php (i think) and then it's done.

Well, saying "How can i upload nukes?" and "Can't do it" is not much help.
Upload where to? Do you mean upload or making it work?
Why do you say "I can't do it"? Is there an error?
We need details, and you're not helping much...

It's far too bulky to explain here, take a look at this FAQ:
http://www.phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=PHP-Nuke_HOWTO
You're at the stage where you need to continue from section 3.2.2
Give the FAQ a go and if you get stuck at any particular point, give us a shout. It's ESSENTIAL (despite what anyone else might say!) that you have phpmyadmin installed on your server to help sort out the MySQL database side of things. If your web hosting company haven't provided phpmyadmin for you already (look at your hosting control panel), you'll need to install it yourself. Have a look at
http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/
I'm sorry that I can't provide a simple explaination directly but unfortunately PHPNuke doesn't work like that. It's not difficult to install, but the procedure is rather lengthy to write out (just take a look at that FAQ!)

Can i suggest something?
Why don't you use EasyPHP to install the apache server and MySQL database?
It's so much easier. Just a simple setup and a few clicks.
Then you can (and based on the default installation folders) browse to "$easyphp install path$www"
Then you can run
http://localhost on your browser and you'll be redirected to that folder and then you can go from there
About installing phpNuke then, it's probably easy...

I think he's trying to install it to a remote server, so hopefully PHP and MySQL will already be up and running (you have checked that haven't you?!?!?)
PHPNuke isn't much easier to install on a local server, you only by-pass the uploading bit unfortunately
Tell you what, if you like I'll install it for you. This would mean PMing me your FTP and MySQL details which, of course, you're not supposed to do EVER but you have my word as an IT professional and a seasoned Esatonian that I won't do anything naughty and you will (I mean WILL) change your FTP password immediately after I've installed it.

Yeah, good idea.
So far he's give good advice, so I guess you could trust him with this much

.
Well, I can send you my "config.php" file if you want to have a look at it, (of course I'll censor the sectret bits) just to see how its set up...
Oh and its definitely worth it! Have a look at
http://www.nickorooster.com/
most of that was made in about 5 minutes. The actual written part (like the content) took longer than the site
