Buddy no matter how intelligent you rationalize, some of the people on this forum border to a fanatic loyality to SE.I too have sold my P900 mainly because of poor signal reception last year.I for once could'nt care less which company builds my cellphone as long as it does what I want it to, I will buy it.At the moment I intend to get me a 6680 because of its S60 and EDGE/3G access which not only is available in my country but is also quite cheap :-)

I left the P9xx platform due to the rip of prices/lack of software and the inadequate calender functions. Don't get me wrong, other wise it was an excellent phone.
I now have an Imate Jam (MDA Compact) running WM 2003 (the generic term. To be precise it is Pocket PC). It does NOT crash all of the time despite the rumours. Battery is not as good- only abt 48 hrs, but there again I now have SDIO wi-fi, and LOADS of free programs, and a sync program that doesn't give me headaches. I prefer having a hard keyboard as on my P9xx, but I can live with that. If I'm honest the Jam is better..simply because technology has moved on, but I'll always have a soft spot for the P9xx.
PS I'm still here for the excellent movies which I play on the various free players for WM. Thanks to Chemos and the crew.

I used a T610 before having this p910i.Same signal strenght, good battery time while i talk at least 3 Hours / day on my cell phone.I use the sync, the mail client, the media progs and lots of programs that uiq uses.I just don't trust WM yet.I am,however, gonna try a WM device for a few days to see how reliable it is-this is the most important thing for me.

i have the jam so far so good, since i had my jam last december it only crashed about 4-5, times, and thats becuase the memory was too low, now that i got a 1gig sd card everythink is sweet. i have freed up my internal memory and it doesnt crash anymore, i think you guys shouldnt brush off all the pocket pc's as the same problem, although the OS are all the same on each manufactures such as ipaq and imate it doesnt mean that they all crash all the time coz its windows, no no totally wrong, it all about the company who builts the hardware some companies make a good pocket pc that rarely crashes then the same company makes a different model which crashes all the time, so blame on the manufactures and not the windows OS, bcoz my i-mate jam like i said it only crashed about 4-5 times since december the 16th when i bought it thats coz of low memory. i have sooo much joy out of it, i have free programs & free religious programs cheap sd cards for upto 1 gig and soon to be 2 gig

fast cpu, i can convert my movies to wmp to watch on my pocket pc and some i dont have to, to watch it on my i-mate jam, and the battery is good just can get over 48 hours batteries life out of it and thats with alot of usage or maybe it can go on for more. and by the way my friend who has the p900 says to me that he has to reset his p900 every week because it crashes, damme i would of been annoyed if it did it to me. dont get me wrong guys i think it a brilliant phone the p900, but you shouldnt brush off all pocket pc's being the same as in problems, i mean when i 1st had my p800 couple yrs back, bloody hell man it was more buggy than a bug.

I'm going to buy HP Ipaq HX4700 instead of a P910 since I have P800/V800/K700i I don't need a new phone, just a handheld computer so P910i wont get me where I want. Though I will probably buy the next Pxxx version if it looks as good as the P800 did when it hit the market. =)

I' ve never heard of something about poor signal reception with P900???
I can't se any difference between my P900, T68i and my wifes T610 and have read a lot of tests here in sweden on the P-series and they have never said anything about this?
I have looked at Qtek S100 and where interested of it but have to let it go because of it's bad sound. I have a hearing lost and need good and loud sound in the phone. My P900 is loud but could be clearer, S100 was really bad for not to mention the Treo 600 wich have a very crappy sound...

Several things for me to point out at this point....
Firstly, I LOVED my P800 and then P900 and convinced many, many people to buy them. I didn't go for the P910 because it wasn't sufficiently different and the QWERTY keyboard was not suitable for me.
I looked around long and hard for a long time before deciding what was right for me (and I realise that's not necessarily the right device for everyone). I was trying to avoid a large form factor, such as anything Pocket PC based and also I still wanted a numeric keyboard for ease of dialling numbers and not needing to use a stylus or greasy finger on the screen.
Back to my original point of the post, in my opinion there are devices that are smaller and lighter (which was an issue for me) with a better battery that does just about everything the P9x0 does - oh and a better signal quality. I really did not appreciate how poor it was, and when you're on Orange in the UK you need all the help you can get!
I'll be back to SE just as soon as they reduce the size and weight, add WiFi and include Blackberry Connect or some other good way of sync'ing back to MS Exchange 2003.

i have to say though the s100 sound is very loud, if you read the review of it it will state that, i can assure you.

when did I ever have signal problems with SE? since I started from T28, to T68i, to T610, to K700i, and finally to P900, I never had a problem with my signal! It's always at full except when I'm in the province. But the signal reception in the province is strong as well.
Also, the weight and size of the P900 does not bother me. When I bought the unit, I am aware about it. If you want a smaller phone, surely there are lots of them out there, but none can compare to SE's P-series of phones! Peace out! Ü
